Kids Clay Your Way Ages 8-12 | Tuesdays @ 5pm August 11-November 17 In this hybrid ceramics class, students will learn both hand building and wheel throwing with clay. Students will rotate through the semester creating multiple clay pieces both beautiful and functional while building skills in working with clay & glazing. What Will We Learn: * Basics of working with clay, how to use tools and materials * Hand building techniques, wheel throwing techniques, and glazing techniques * How to create functional art and decorative art with clay In this class, students will all begin at the same pace learning the fundamentals of ceramics. As the semester progresses, students will work in a weekly rotational pattern where some will work on the wheel, some will work on hand building and some will glaze--rotating so everyone explores it all! This will allow for the most efficient use of student class time, instructor availability and studio equipment and materials. How Do We Learn: We are a project based studio where students are taught an art concept then presented with a theme that will allow them to practice and demonstrate the concept. Within the theme, students are encouraged to demonstrate their knowledge and skill in a way that highlights their creativity. Same lesson, different creative expressions. Additional Details: Our studio hosts an end of semester Student Art Show where students will be invited to show pieces of their art in a museum art show format that they can invite their friends and family to. Tuition: $400 We provide two different tuition options: 1. Tuition paid in full on the first day of class is eligible for a 10% discount. 2. Tuition is divided into 4 installments (August, September, October, November) and auto drafted for your convenience. No payment is due at the time of registration.

Cancellation Policy
Semester Classes: This is a collection of classes where your tuition has been broken into installment payments and you pay for the whole series before or on the 1st class or auto drafted in four payments. There will be no refunds or prorating for missed classes. If a class is missed due to illness or family emergency, the student will be given the option to schedule a make-up class. A student will be provided 2 make-up class opportunities per semester. All make-up lessons are at the availability of an instructor. All make-up lessons must be used within one week of the end of the semester that the absences occurred. Make-Up lessons will consist of making up any missed work during class or a review of concepts taught during the missed class. Students are not entitled to new and/or different content from what they missed in their absence. Students with extenuating circumstances will be handled on a family/student basis. Make-up policies are a courtesy extended to our students as we know life can throw curveballs. If a student/family chooses to abuse this policy, we reserve the right to revoke make-up opportunities to individuals and/or entire classes. If the whole semester class is canceled by the studio, full refunds will be issued to students. If a single class is cancelled by the studio, a make-up date will be provided. High demand classes may require a deposit to hold your spot. This deposit will be applied to your overall tuition. No refunds will be given on deposits to hold your student's spot should you cancel.
